Free the Fairies"
This digital design aims to get attention to a natural wonder in Turkey, called the "Fairy Chimneys". Touring the site on hot air balloons is the main tourist attraction; however due to high ticket prices the local people living there cannot afford this ride. Moreover, companies now started to even take money from people who want to take pictures at the ideal photo spots around the site. This privatization of natural wonders and the ticket culture in general where people have to pay to see historical, natural or artistic creations around the world are criticized with this piece.

Romeo and Juliet"
-Digital collage-
This collage is centered around two concepts that do not come to one’s mind instantly after reading the play: space and ocean. The mermaid at the bottom of the collage represents Juliet, and the male with burned wings represents Romeo. The reason for the contrast between a mermaid and an angel is due to their forbidden love. A mermaid cannot leave the ocean, and likewise, an angel cannot get in the ocean because his wings would get wet. The fact that they cannot reach each other is a representation of the barrier between Romeo and Juliet which is their families’ feud. I imagined the reason behind Romeo’s burned wings to be his intense love that ends up harming him. Even though they cannot be together, they cannot leave each other either due to the chain that comes out of the ship that Romeo is standing on. That chain represents fate and the reason why Romeo keeps coming back for Juliet. The rose image on the right side of the collage is a reference to the line "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet” and is also used as a symbol for the couple’s love. The spilled potion/poison represents the tragedy at the end of the play. The way the potion is spilled is intentionally made to look like a dagger or a sword in order to represent the violence in the play, and the end of the play where Juliet stabs herself.

"Urban Sadness"
-An imaginary book cover-
This book cover is inspired by a post I came across around a year ago. The post read: "That strange feeling of longing when you are at a train station, in a 24/7 open market, when you are buying a coke from a vending machine, watching the city lights glow from your window, when you're walking aimlessly on a busy street after 5 pm, that feeling as if something is missing in your life and it will never come back although it was never there in the first place; that inexplicable urban sadness." I wanted to convey this feeling of isolation and being deprived of any meaninful human interactions and relationships through the symbol of a vending machine. Normally humans have to at least interact with another human to purchase something, however this urban invention doesn't even allow that. I think the blue light while standing for color symbolism of sadness also refers to office lights that can also be a symbol of the meaningless city lifestyle that
millions are enslaved by.

The items that are inside the pick-up window are a coke and a Hershey's bar. The respective typefaces are used to reference these big companies. The text on these items are the imaginary authors name. I chose Jean-Paul Colleyn since he is an anthropologists that touches on supermodernity along side Marc Augé.
"NOT NAMED"
This is an animation I made. Please enjoy:)

"win the race"
I wanted to express how I think people get stuck in a monotonous life due to societal pressure, trying to become successful according to how the norm defines it. In my opinion, true success and happiness come from pursuing our own ambitions in life.
